What is One question daily?
A minimalist daily journaling web: one new question is published every day, and anyone can answer it, publicly or privately.
Is One question daily free?
Yes. Reading questions, answering them and browsing public answers is completely free.
Do I need to install anything?
No, One question daily runs entirely in your browser, on desktop or mobile, with no web to install.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is currently available in English, and follows your browser or account language preference automatically.
Account and access
Do I need an account to answer the One question daily?
No. You can submit a public answer anonymously. Creating a free account additionally lets you post private answers, like other answers and keep a personal history.
How do I create an account?
Use the sign-up page with your email and a password, or continue directly with Google or GitHub.
I forgot my password, what do I do?
Use the login form's password recovery option, if enabled, or sign in with the same OAuth provider you originally used to create your account.
Can I change my username later?
Yes, you can update your username and full name at any time from your profile page.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us through the channel listed on the site so we can process the deletion of your account and associated private data.
Questions and answers
How often does a new question appear?
A new question is published once per day, at midnight, and stays the same for every visitor until the next day begins.
Can I answer more than once to the same question?
Yes, there is no limit on the number of answers you can submit to a single question, each with its own visibility setting.
Can I edit an answer after posting it?
Not currently. Once an answer is submitted, it is saved as written, so it's worth reviewing it before you post.
What kind of formatting can I use in my answer?
The answer editor supports headings, bold, italics, lists, quotes, links, highlights and code blocks.
Can I see questions from previous days?
Yes, the archive page shows every past question in a calendar you can browse freely.
Privacy
Who can see a private answer?
Only you. Private answers never appear on the public question page or in anyone else's view of the archive.
Can I change an answer from public to private afterwards?
Not at the moment, since answers cannot currently be edited after submission. Choose the visibility carefully before posting.
Does One question daily sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal data to third parties. See our privacy policy for full details.
Are anonymous answers really anonymous?
Yes, answers submitted without an account are not linked to any profile and are shown simply as anonymous public answers.
Community and likes
What does the like button do?
It lets you show appreciation for a public answer. The like count updates for everyone viewing that answer.
Can I like a private answer?
No, likes are only available on public answers, since private answers are only ever visible to their author.
Can I remove a like I gave?
Yes, clicking the like button again removes your like and updates the count immediately.
